Typical ribs...

Wifey's birthday is this Thursday, but she has a birth-week instead of a birth-day. Since I had time today, and she wanted ribs, I fired up the WSM
.
But first, a couple of commercial rubs as taste-tests.
Up first - Bone Suckin' Sauce - Seasoning & Rub

#2 is Sweet Rub O Mine. Looks just like ^^^^, so no pic of that one.

#3 is Bad Byron Butt Rub, but I've cut it 1-to-1 with turbinado sugar for by pork butt use.
Figured I'd give it a whirl on a rack of ribs.

On the 22 with cherry & a hunk of oak for smoke.

Wife was tired of my zesty bourbon beans, so these are sweet. Literally. Brown sugar, maple syrup, molasses, etc...

Couple hours in, so the beans take perch under the ribs.

Ribs are done, but the peppers needed additional time. Here's the Weber egg.

The cooking grate from my Patent Number Red 18" fits like a glove!

Only sauced half of each rack (wifey wanted sauce) because I wanted to taste-test the different rubs.

This plate won't help the scale, but I did it anyways...

My favorite rub from these samples? The Bad Bryon I added the turbinado sugar to.
Thanks for following along.

Great post . Lots of good info. Great looking meal too. I like the sound of "zesty bourbon beans" but those sweet beans sound and look good too. Well happy birthday week to the Mrs and thanks for sharing.

Yeah, what they said... great ribs. Great post, thanks for sharing. Happy birthday to Mrs. Chad.

Thanks fellas. Wifeys birthday is Thursday and she's a steak kinda girl..... Won't be any low-&-slow that night. :)

Great looking smoke ring, how was that bone sucking rub? I've seen it at my local orchard supply and was considering trying it out for my ribs.

Great cook. I have yet to try the 1 : 1 Bad Byron's to T sugar but since I have both I will probably do it next cook. Please pass along a happy birth week to the Mrs.
