Stainless steel or cast iron grate


 
I had an older Genesis Silver B with porcelain enameled cast iron grates and I loved them. I didn't think anything could be better. But then I got a Genesis S320 that has the tubular stainless steel grates and I love it. The sear marks are at least as good as the CI and they're completely no fuss for cleanup.

My parents have an older style Weber Genesis 1000 and bought some half circle kinda stainless steel grates and they're not nearly as good. The food seems to stick to them for some reason. It may actually be that their grill isn't getting hot enough because I think one of the burner tubes has some holes in it and needs to be replaced.
