Hi there,

Heaving read most of the 11 pages of threads on the portable grills, I have a question pertaining to using aluminium and stainless steel:

In my experience, the aluminium just rusts away when left in contact with stainless steel.

Now I see a lot of mods using aluminium parts, in contact with stainless steel (the grates, and various nuts'n'bolts).

No one having problems with their aluminium mods just disintegrating over time?

Good point Gerald.
If one uses a fiber washer to avoid "Metal on Metal" that would insulate against galvanic corrosion.
I used SS hardware on Aluminum handle brackets on my WSM and the fiber washers have worked well for a few yrs.

Aluminum doesn't rust, it might get a little bit of corrosion. But Aluminum doesn't rust. I certainly haven't had any trouble with my stainless and Aluminum parts.
