Ribs in cryo-wrap purchased a year ago?

They have been frozen in a very cold freezer. Do you reckon they are still okay to smoke this weekend? Thanks.

I'd thaw them out and open them up and take a good long whiff. If they aren't any good, your nose will let you know.

I just smoked ones that have been the freezer for almost a year.I forgot I had them.I thawed them out and they didn't smell so I cooked and they wee they best ribs I did yet.

C, I buy ribs whenever my local has them for 2.99/lb and put them in a stand up freezer with my other long term storage. As long as the cryo is still holding (and why shouldn't it?) then every rib I've smoked as been great. I'm sure I've pulled some out as old as a year and never hesitate. That's the magic of cryo and deep freeze. Enjoy!

If they have stayed frozen for the whole time then they'll be fine.

Just did 17lbs of butt and 3 racks of spares over the weekend to clean out the meat from last fall. It was excellent.
