Rib Rub---Pull Pork Finishing Sauce

Rib Rub

1-2 cups Brown Sugar
1/2 cup Paprika
1/4 cup Black Ground Pepper
1/4 cup Granulated Garlic (Garlic Powder works too!)
1/4 cup Salt
1/4 cup Dark Chili Powder
1/4 Cajun Seasoning

It's pretty simple, but it works good w/ Ribs/Pork Butts and even chicken...

Pull Pork Finishing Sauce

2 cups Apple Cider Vinegar
1-2 tablespoons Red Pepper Flakes
2 tablespoons Salt
1 teaspoon Black Pepper
2-3 tablespoons Brown Sugar
2-3 tablespoons BBQ Sauce (I prefer KC Masterpiece)
Combine Ingredients and heat until well blended stirring occasionally...Milder finishing sauce for those who like it on the sweeter side...
 
Ron - How is that finishing sauce used? Is it a baste or something you mix in when pulling the pork?

I mix it in as I'm pulling the pork...I like to use about 2-3 laddle scoops per Butt...The baste that I use is simply:
1/2 cup apple juice
1/4 cup cider vinegar
1/4 cup vegatable oil

This baste came off from this site...the section on the mustard slathered pork butt...
