Peanut Butter-Chocolate Chip Cookies

1 1/2 cups sifted all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, room temp.
1/2 cup firmly packed golden brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 oz. unsweetened chocolate, melted
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

1. Preheat oven to 375 F. Sift flour, baking soda and salt together. Using electric mixer, cream butter in large bowl until light and fluffy. Add both sugars
and beat until fluffy. Mix in egg and vanilla, then peanut butter, and melted chocolate. Mix in dry ingredients, then chocolate chips.
2. Form dough into 1" balls. Arrange on ungreased baking sheet, spacing 1 1/2" apart. Flatten to thickness of 1/2" with back of fork in crosshatch pattern.
Bake until cookies are just firm around edges and bottoms are brown, about 12 minutes. Cool on rack. Store in airtight container. Makes about 3 1/2 dozen
