Hey everyone...I hope you all had a great Memorial day.
On saturday I was doing a rib and chicken cook, and got in a bit of a hurry and didn't empty out my ashes from the previous cook. (Ever since I put my pit back into "round" I can smother out a fire like nobody's busines)
I lit my fire (mm) and off I went, but had a really hard time keeping the temps up. It wasn't till later I remembered that I had done a 12hr cook about two weeks ago and had a big amount of ash buildup. All of those ashes had piled up so high that my new firwe wasn't getting any air from underneath and my temps were way, way low.
Let this be a lesson to us all..BBQ is low and SLOW..so don't get in a hurry:p

I've had this issue when smoking on my kettle, and my Smokey Joe is pretty sensitive to this too. Thanks for the heads-up on the WSM. Laziness may still win over logic on my part....
