need help with temp control

lid temp is at 227 second grate is at 201 with oven thermometer bottom vents almost closed i'm cooking two butts 8lbs ea. should i open vents to bring up the lower temp or just leave it be? its be holding 228-226 for an hour now?

I find little reason to run temps that cool. For the butt I'm about to start, I will be running at least 275 for the most part. Might finish higher as well.

I don't like waiting for 14 hours or more to turn out BBQ, when I can get the same results in less than 6.
 
Tom thats a good point with everything I'v read low-n-slow is the way to go I planed to cook all night for a party tomorror at 2:30 the next time I'll do the fast method (more sleep) but for now it's to late to turn back.
