Hi from Australia!
Just bought a weber summit silver D model I believe (according to serial).
Didn't know about the firebox rust issues until after I bought mine. I'll have to have a really close look at it when I start cleaning it today. Didn't see any rust at all when inspecting.
Bought it for $15 Australian.
Went a bit silly ordering parts from Weber but they are really good here, great service, had every part and free shipping.
Flavorizer bars were cheaper than Amazon. Spent too much buying two grill grates. The hot plate was cheap. They threw in a free ignition system as it was meant to last a lifetime. Was pretty chuffed about that! I could have just reused the original plate and grill but they look crusty. Might clean them and sell them.
