Happy Thanksgiving!

Here's the last look I had at the turkey, just after flipping it over and brushing with Simon & Garfunkel butter:

It smells fantastic, but has another 30-40 degrees to go.
 
Yeah...I wasn't counting on the grill marks, but eventually the rest of the skin got enough color to even them out:

And here it is after a 45 minute rest/drive to the friend's house at which we were dining:

It was delicious...just smokey enough, very moist and tender like crazy. Last night I put the rest of the carcass in the crock pot and made 4-1/2 quarts of stock for soup and other uses later. Planning to make some turkey pot pie with the last of the leftover meat, plus what I scavenged after making stock later this week.

Hope everyone else's holiday was as enjoyable and productive as mine!
