Kingsford Smaller Size At Home Depot

Not sure if this has been mentioned or not, but Home Depot is no longer selling the twin 20lb bags of Kingsford. I usually don't pick any up until the half price sales, but needed some for tomorrow's cook. The new bags are 18.6lbs, but still $19.97 for the twin pack. It looked like the switch just happened because there were still a couple of beat up retaped 20lb bags.

Anyone else seeing the size difference? I think it has something to do with the hold and possible sale on 4/9 to introduce the new packaging?

Kingsford has once again changed their formulation to include more charwood, making bags lighter for the same number of briquets. They did the same in 2010. 20lbs bags are old stock of old formulation.

Thanks for the clarification. Makes sense as to why the bags are smaller.

The smaller size isnt going to stop me from loading up once the sale starts!
