Silicone Thermo Port...how to install

I am a new WSM cooker and I was pretty bummed when my new cooker arrived and it did not have the 2014 port like the one I'd seen in a store recently. If I have the part...does anyone know the proper size hole to drill to install it? Thank you.

I would get a digital dial caliper (they are extremely cheap now) and measure your grommet's diameter at the inside of the groove. I believe that those require a hole over one inch in diameter.
A Unibit is going to be your best choice to cut that hole. A metal-rated hole saw should be able to do it as well.

Here's how I did mine...

The caliper in the pic was from Harbor Freight (#47257) and cost about $7.00

Scott, the hole is 1.25 in. I used a step bit to drill the hole and touched up the bare metal with high temp bbq paint before installing grommet.
