No. 9 Sauce

No. 9 Sauce

2 c ketchup
1 c vinegar
1/3 c brown sugar
1/3 c molasses
2 T worchestershire sauce
1/2 c defatted meat drippings (I use the juice left after resting in foil)
1/2 c pineapple juice
1 T Texas Pete hot sauce
2 T Rub

Simmer 10 minutes
 
I went a little light on the molasses (perhaps 1/4 c) and still had appropriate sweetness. The pineapple juice provided an interesting fruit note I liked for a change. The hot sauce added the heat needed.

What else might add to this? Perhaps some cinnamon and allspice would comeplete the picture!

In my quest to stay easy to make with readilly available ingredients....this is good.

Kevin, your addidition of liquid magic-meat drippings really adds that special touch.
