Anyone use the "Go Anywhere" Grill?

Use the cast iron grates from the hibachi ontop of the normal grate as cheapo craycort replacement ;) That's what I use anyways. Makes excellent grillmarks on the GA. Now, how do people actually use the GA? I just mainly fill it up halfway, all coals banked to either left or right side. Always...

    Damage repair

Hi George, Hmm that is a bit of a hazard indeed. Then I'll need to figure out a different way of fixing most of the added "ventilation".

    Damage repair

Hi Guys, I've tried some searching, but couldn't quite find satisfactory threads. If and when you guys do know of good threads, do point them out! Anyways, as stated: damage repair. I bought a CGA last year, and it's rather dinged up. Dents all over the place. The lid won't close smoothely...

Smokey, char-grilled flavor. Why is it missing from my burgers?

Just as a question, did you ask your friends and all that did manage to make the smokey flavoured burgers to flip a burger on your grill, just to rule out a difference of grill? (And ofcourse, try to see what his process is and what's so different about yours). Ofcourse, this might be a moot...

    cast iron grates

Guess I'll give it a go once it's been removed from the caravan. Saving up for a purpose built CI grate too in the meantime :D (my previous reply is actually based on scouring this forum for nice little bits of info on everything, including CI grates)

    cast iron grates

Thanks to you guys  I've now put a smokey joe cast iron grate on my wishlist  My dad used to have a nice 60's or 70's double and single hibachi with cast iron grates (andwell, the things weighed a ton, so must have been cast iron all out, they don't make 'm like that anymore), and...

How I made my SJG hot

Wow, awesome idea! I kinda use the same idea for the SJS, to guide the air through the coals, by covering most of the grate (like certain other mods on this board), for low'n'slow, but never thought of using the baffle/guider idea for hot'n'fast cooking. Say, since you're from Hong Kong/Hong...

Wood on Smokey Joe Prenium !

Looking forward to your results :D Pizza's on the bbq are always nice to see :D I'll have to try some myself too, been busy getting some ridiculous dough prepared, but it is at a standstill right now. Trying to recreate this guy's recipe: http://www.varasanos.com/PizzaRecipe.htm

Wood on Smokey Joe Prenium !

Hmm, I think you can still use wood, but charcoal/briquettes should work equally well to get the high temperatures and could be much easier to use and handle than wood. The main thing you need for pizza's is a pizza stone.

My crack at smoking on the smokey joe

That's my understanding too, I thought there was an article about it on the virtualweberbullet.com main site, but can't find it now. So I probably saw it someplace else. The main idea is to smoke it first for 2-3 time units, then foil it up with some applejuice or some other kind of...

My crack at smoking on the smokey joe

Hmm, that seems like a very good suggestion. I was contemplating using the basting sauce too, could add some brownsugar and some thai sweet chili sauce in the mix to spice it up a bit :D (instead of the tiger sauce)

My crack at smoking on the smokey joe

Paul: Well, my parents used to have some apple, pear and cherry trees in the garden. Now only a couple of pears are left, but no chunks or anything. That's all been cleared up couple of years ago (by means of the fireplace :D) There are some orchards around though, so I'll give that a go, very...

    S.J. Silver/Gold Mini WSM Smoker: Part 2

Would it be an idea to make the first post of this thread a bit of an introductory post? With a link to the previous thread, and some basic information about the Mini WSM, including (but not exhaustive) some links to notable pictorials/pictures of the mini wsm? I've read the previous 50 (in the...

My crack at smoking on the smokey joe

Hi Paul, Unfortunately I haven't been able to find chunks yet, so opted for the Weber chips. They burn out fast though. Mostly I've been using rosemary and thyme to smoke/flavour the meat by placing branches on top of the grillgrate over the coals, or just place them over the meat and let the...

    How do you store?

Since the SJS is so small, I just give it a spot on the floor of my shed. Need to clean off some shelves though, so I can properly sit it next to the gas bbq I have (which resembles a WGA in shape)
