Your opinon, please, on my proposed exhaust system...

Thanks for all the suggestions, guys. A BBQ shed or windbreak is out of the question; it would have to have an enclosed walkway or I'd have to shovel snow just to get to it and I've got drifts 5' deep. Some of our gusts are 60 MPH+. So the garage is my only choice. The house is log so the...

Your opinon, please, on my proposed exhaust system...

Well, today's blizzard was not conducive to firing up my WSM. We've had snow and wind almost continuously for about 3 weeks now. I need a solution to barbecuing in our extreme winter conditions. I miss it...! Here's what I've come up with; your opinion would be appreciated: I intend to...

Brinkman Charcoal Pan & The Piedmont Method

Thanks Mac, Where did you get your magnets? Toby, I prowled around an Ace Hardware until I found the magnets that met my specs. And they're just as attractive now as the day I met them...! --

Brinkman Charcoal Pan & The Piedmont Method

Hey Mac, what size are your magnets (now that doesn’t sound right) and where did you get them? We have Home Depot, Osh Do-It Center out here in Southern Cal. </div></BLOCKQUOTE> Well, Toby, I have no problem bragging about the size of my magnets...! I use 3 sets of 3 stacked magnets; each...

Piedmont Pan mod - no drilling...!

Good point, Rusty...! Unless I'm mistaken, most permanent magnets are made of colbat, iron and nickel. So I got their Curie temperatures in kelvins and converted to fahrenheit: cobalt: 2,039 degrees fahrenheit iron: 1,418 degrees fahrenheit nickel: 669 degrees fahrenheit So I think those...

Piedmont Pan mod - no drilling...!

I bought some round magnets and used them to hold 2 Brinkmann charcoal pans together. Each magnet is 5/8" high, a nice compromise between the recommended 1/2" and 3/4" spacing. Works great...!

    Bison Burgers

DWolf, we enjoy buffalo burgers too. I add fat like you do, and also add lots of black pepper and sometimes diced horseradish cheese. Sometimes a little worcheschire is good. Before they go on, I like to generously sprinkle a little Kosher salt on 'em - not in 'em... Mmmm... Would love to...

How can I quickly get more heat?

Greetings to all, I've been quietly reading this *great* forum and just took deliverly of my Weber SMC smoker. Because I wanted to run a "test chicken" and thought the new Weber would run hot, I used no water, lit 1 chimney, and had temps of about 250. I'd really like about 350 so I lit...
