    Servo Power

I am having problems getting my heatermeter back up and working, Blower works fine but I am not measuring 5V on the Servo power, any ideas?

    HeaterMeter Hardware v4.3.3, v4.3.4, v4.3.5, v4.3.6

    Has the Heatermeter project died?

    POE

I wasn't thinking of using a HAT rather I was thinking of using one of these, that splits the power and ethernet. This one provides 12V (supposedly at up to 2A) through a jack compatible with the heatermeter and and Ethernet tail to plug into the RaPi. I have tried it, not connected to the...

    POE

Has anyone run a heatermeter via POE. At 25W will that be enough power?

HM 4.3 Case to bolt to a panel

I am wanting to replace my HM 4.2 with the 4.3 version (4.2 will be used elsewhere) but I need to be able to bolt the casing to the inside of a thin Aluminium panel on my smoker. With the 4.2 I just DL a design off Thingiverse, but I do not seem to be able to find a suitable one for the 4.3...

    No Pit Probe

Sorted. It was the ATMega328 that had gone bad. Replaced it and it is all good :-)

    No Pit Probe

I have a feeling that water may have got into my heatermeter (it rained) and it is now not recognising the pit probe, a K type Thermocouple and the display just says "No Pit Probe" Also Probe 2 and 3 are working but Probe 1 is not recognised. But maybe it is the TC that is faulty, what sort of...

Thermocouple not Matching the temps on ThermoWorks

I am having problems getting the Thermocouple match the temps given by the thermistor probes. I tested the Thermoworks probes in boiling water and ice water and they seemed pretty accurate. But the thermocouple readings are off, I cannot easily take the TC out to test in BW and IW so I matched...

    Twitching Servo

Any idea what could be causing this? https://photos.app.goo.gl/1VTR3j2gLzYv5Uou8 The servo does this then at other times just moves to 80%ish open and just stalls leaving the vent open.

Large fan won't start at low power

My word, what a difference having a large fan has made, it could take hours to get this big gravity fed up to temp before, now it is just minutes.

Large fan won't start at low power

Think I have sorted it by changing from voltage to PWM

Large fan won't start at low power

Looking in the manual I read about something called *********************** Low Fan Speed (below 10%) When operating in automatic mode at fan speeds below 10%, the fan will run in a partial duty cycle. The fan will run one second out of every ten for each percent required. This special low...

Large fan won't start at low power

I dont think that that would work as it would just turn it on, not regulate the speed.

Large fan won't start at low power

I have setup my heater meter and it all looks to be working apart from one thing. If I set the fan speed manually then the fan will only start from rest at about 80-85%, you can then throttle down to about 50% but it just stalls below that. I am using a 6A 12V supply. Is there any settings in...

    RJ45 Wiring

It seems to be wired "oddly", I contacted the manufacturer and received this. am I right in thinking that that is "odd"?

The Adapt-a-Damper - Open Source Project

The reason for the big fan that little Maplin fan was trying to provide enough air to get this half tonne (maybe more) smoker up to temp and it just couldn't, it could hold it at temp once it got there it would just take hours and hours and hours to get threre.

The Adapt-a-Damper - Open Source Project

Things are coming along nicely with the Adapt-a-Damper but I have decided to use a bigger fan as my Gravity fed smoker is quite large and can be difficult to get up to temp (not surprising judging by the size of the fan I removed, apart from being knackered I even when new it could have been out...

    RJ45 Wiring

Looking at the docs I should be using 568B but my connector doesn't match the numbers or position in the image from the docs, on my connector all of the indicated wires are all on one side of the connector. I really wish that they had put numbers on the pins! Any ideas?

    RJ45 Wiring

I am trying to build an adapt a damper and I have bought this RJ45 socket which does not have pin numbers but does have these colour codes on each side, it seems to give two alternative schemes, A and B. I would like to avoid connecting the 12V to the servo if possible :). If I connect the...
