Will a Verizon jetpack (wi/fi hot spot) work as a router with a stoker black box? I have switched from a computer to an ipad and wanting to clean up unwanted devices. In other words can I get rid of my router?

Stoke Master and BBQ monitor. Had a couple little glitches with BBQ monitor but nothing that effects the stoker or your cook.

Backwoods and a stoker here ... both work well together.

Can a non-tech guy get this running? I understand command prompts and jar file but lost as to how to get it to load or run. Am I missing something with <path_to_java> ????????

It ran fine for my first cook but have been getting the "Not Responding" error the last couple uses. I tried to follow the problem last week and can't seem to pin down a pattern. Sometimes it runs for 3 hr ... sometimes 1 hour. ????????????????

comps use for us ... we have a new Vaio Tap, which works like a 20in tablet, to hook it to this year. Very handy.

what can be done when they are overlapping like above. At contests I have had problems with dropped connections but its so speratic that I can reproduce it. It would make sence to check the wifi with all the teams using connections and hot spots.

FYI ... Downloaded V6.9RC onto a new Sony Tap running Windows 8. Ran stoker/stokerlog inside the house for about 5 hours. Although I did not try any of the triggers all ran fine. Will try to run it through more options this weekend. Could not get the computer to connect to router and aircard at...

Briefly looked thru the thread regarding windows 8. Has anyone had stokerlog running properly on windows 8 yet? Just got a Sony Vaio Tap 20. It is freaky using the tap in your lap then going back to my ipad.

I have never used it but I believe there is twitter in the stoker it self too. Does anyone know if it works?

we use it because its there but its more of a toy than a nessesary tool. Friends do like watching the different cooks but again its of no use in regards to us and a cook.

program ran well for our cook. It locked up a couple time but Im guessing it had something to do computer going into sleep mode. But the restart control-Pworked great. Playing on the smoker this after noon and wanted to turn on twitter and can not.I go into setting to set up and hit test...

One other thing to look at is their track record with new models. Every time Guru came out with a new better version you had to buy the new model. With stoker you simply downloaded the new version free into your existing box. (present wifi excluded)

We have contests the next three weekends in a row, we'll test it out. As always thx Amir
