help with setting servo and blower

So the "fan on at max only" is the only setting that will allow use of the RD damper feature correct? If "fan on at max only" is not selected, then it is blower only control, based on your info above, correct? And where do I find this setting so I can enable it? Ralph wrote: With the fan...

help with setting servo and blower

Thanks Ralph, that is very helpful! Can you give me a step by step instructions on how to calibrate the servo? I am not sure how to control the fan while calibrating the servo. Do I use the fan settings in the configuration PID area, and if so, which ones? And what should the HM be set to...

help with setting servo and blower

Still not quite following you Ralph. So on my HeaterMeter I need to go into the menu and set the fan to manual mode. Then set fan to 100%? I thought the whole purpose of the HeaterMeter RD controls was to: 1) regulate the damper opening automatically, using the pit temp probe. 2) when...

help with setting servo and blower

I am having one heck of a time setting the servo and blower settings. I followed the wiki, as well as the "servo settings" search thread, still not having much luck. Not sure exactly how I control the blower, other than the startup max % box? And should I have my heatermeter to auto fan or...

    Question on wiring cat5 cable?

I have my HeaterMeter up and running, and am adding my RD25 with blower and servo. My question is on the CAT5 cable wiring. Since my HeaterMeter board already has the CAT5 output for the blower, and my RD25 board has the CAT5 input, I can just use a standard telephone cable to connect my...

a few questions for you heatermeter experts..

OK Bryan, I booted up my heatermeter, and then went to the heatermeter devices page. It listed the address of my heatermeter, just as you highlighted above. So I opened a new browser page, entered that address, and it connected right to my device...fantastic! Will this address be my permanent...

    INTRODUCING: the "Roto Damper"

The threads look great, have to be careful when starting to screw in initially, but works like a charm! I may get an adapter to put in between so I don't have to screw/unscrew every time. I would hate to cross thread even once!

    INTRODUCING: the "Roto Damper"

Yep, I am the guy who got the big RD25! A big thanks to Ralph and John! It threads right into my ball valve, and shoukd work great as soon as my servo and blower shows up in the next 2 weeks! Will post more when I get it all hooked up in a few weeks!

a few questions for you heatermeter experts..

Booted up my heatermeter, got connected to the internet, but I can only get to the heatermeter via the heatermeter devices page, where it says "root" and where I then enter my own selected password. Then I can see my device, make changes, etc. But I thought I would be able to connect to my...

    Heatermeter internal temp?

Pefect, I understand now! Thanks Ralph! I will install one as soon as it comes in. Any idea on my food probe alarm setting question? Thx!

    Heatermeter internal temp?

And am I correct to assume that I will need to set the food alarm temp for each probe online or on the pitdroid app, etc. Not on the menu on the unit itself?

    Heatermeter internal temp?

Thanks Ralph! Could someone post a closeup photo of the thermistor mounted on the board so I can see where I need to solder it to the board

    Heatermeter internal temp?

I have the newest 4.2.4 board, so it looks different than your board?

    Heatermeter internal temp?

Didn't see any instructions on adding this internal thermistor. And I bought my kit from the heatermeter store, and it didn't come with a thermistor. Where are the instructions on what thermistor to add and what value of thermistor?

    Heatermeter internal temp?

Just finished my first heatermeter 4.2.4 build, booted up for the first time, etc. and added all my thermoworks probes (all four thermistor based..three food and one pit) LCD shows pit temp of 106 deg, and other three probes show around 105 deg, even though it is around 73 deg in my house. So I...

Considering a HeaterMeter, but I'm confused about the probes

I don't think the thermocouple version is any better than the thermistor version. Accuracy is the same on both probe types, as I understand it. Only difference is the higher heat rating of the thermocouples. They aren't any more accurate than the thermistor probes, at least that is what I...
