my HM case is deforming ...

got a HM case 3d printed from a nice contact here. very happy with it. only one issue: it's black, and when lying in the sun it deforms a lot. i have no experience with different 3d printing material. so is there a good and a bad stuff to use? the box gets really soft. and it seems that even the...

    thermocouple output reads 0v

i lately decided to retrofit the thermocouple parts which i got from peter f (thanks again for the fast service!). everything went on fine, i don't have issues soldering smd parts and have the appropriate tools for it. i tested it and got readings of 400°C w/o anything connected. stupid me i had...

    feature? staged temperature limits?

as i already mentioned in another thread, i own a qmaster senior as well. one great feature of this pid controller is that it can hand over pit control from pit probe to meat probe. EG: so you set pit probe hold 115°C (240F). you now can set an alarm to inform your when your bbq reaches 92°C...

    my air burner build

i really struggle to keep a constant temperature in my 18.5 wsm. this may have different sources but an air burner can't be wrong to heat it evenly. i already bought a qmaster senior and have the 10cfm fan with the adapter for the wsm that i can use. i want the air burner to be detachable...

what's the maximum input voltage for the heatermeter 4.2.4?

topic says it all :) i normally use a 3s 5.000mAh lipo but that can be a bit too little capacity for a 16h+ run. so i would make it 3s2p 12v 10.000mAh or i could go 6s 5000mAh if the input may be 24v.

wsm: best place for pit probe?

maverick has those clips included to install the probe on the grate. most of the time this is in my way. i will permanently install a thermocouple probe. so i'm thinking of drilling a hole in my cylindrical part of my wsm, maybe above or next to the door. is that a good idea? or is there a...

    thermocouple connector sourcing question

i started building the heatermeater with maverick probes and ordered a case for a thermocouple probe. stupid me. now i'd like to upgrade the pcb to thermocouple, which is no big deal, but finding the thermocouple connector IS A BIG DEAL. ordering from newark in the usa and shipping to europe is...
