Possible to wire a vibrating motor in place of the fan controller for pellet smoker?

I have started using a pellet smoker and using the HeaterMeter to monitor temps. I do not use the fan output anymore. One small thing pellet smokers suffer through is as you get to the last 1lb of pellets, sometimes the pellets do not funnel into the auger due to the design of the hoppers. I was...

Hi Guys, I cannot get the wifi on my heatermeter to work on it's own. I have configured it as shown here: https://github.com/CapnBry/HeaterMeter/wiki/HeaterMeter-4.x-Software#wireless-client-setup-via-config-file-step-by-step-easiest-method except that I gave it a static IP (the one the DHCP...

I have a HeaterMeter that I accidentally broke one of the usb ports on the Raspberry pi. I have another Raspberry Pi, the same exact type, sitting around I don't use. Probes driving me nuts! Does the 4.3 design have better probe plugs?

I have a 4.X heatermeter I think. It was built 3-4 years ago. I have the et-72 and et-732 probes and they are so finicky it drives me nuts. Specifically, the fact that if you push them in too far into the plugs they wont work. Plus the probes are erratic when plugged in. Maybe my heatermeter is...

Pulled Pork: Temp from 151 to 161 in almost 8 hours

I smoke a lot of pulled pork. I am a little perplexed by this smoke though. I did buy from HEB instead of Sams Club because I wanted a smaller butt. I bought a little over 7 lb butt and after I trimmed some I would say it weighed in around 7 lb. I generally plan of 2 hours per pound at 225. I...

Probe Readout goes from 0 to correct temp and back and fourth

Hello, On two separate ET-732 probes and testing different probe sockets, the reading keeps fluctuating between 9 and the actual temp. The pit probe is a et-732 and it works just fine. Using a ET-72 probe and I do not seem to have this problem. Any clues as to why this is happening?

I created a HeaterMeter Android App! You can create one too! Pics inside

So, I would LOVE to have a really nice Android HeaterMeter app that was built specifically for Android. I was thinking of maybe doing it in Adobe Air which would make it cross platform compatible for iOS/Android/Mac/Linux/PC. I am not a coder- I am a project manager and have good ties to...

My WSM 18.5 Cart - Radiant Barrier, locking casters, and 3 hinged side walls

I live in Central Texas and I get TONS of high winds. It can also get quite cold. I had bought some SolarBoard (radiant barrier it is also called here in Texas) and was going to hinge it together to make a wind block and to help reflect the heat back towards the smoker. I then saw someone build...

Attaching the blower to the WSM - My idea

While I was out buying parts for the WSM cart I am building, I was looking around for some sort of metal bowl/cup to attached to the wsm. Using this image as a reference idea, http://ep.yimg.com/ca/I/yhst-128588856314212_2235_515369, I looked for camping coffee mugs, cat/dog bowls, metal...

Wohoo! I've joined the WSM cult... errr I mean owners circle! I have some questions

Hello All, After owning a ECB, modifying the heck out of it, and getting tired of baby sitting it, I decided to buy a 18.5 WSM instead! Well this was also after I got smoker envy over my friend's new Traeger Pellet Smoker. That was a tad too expensive so I went with the tried and true WSM. I...
