    Thanks. Much appreciated.

    Is this gas connection OK?

I usually don't see a direct connection like this, so I'm worried. Also, it should have plumber's tape on it, right? Should there be some sort of other connection. This is a Genesis Gold.

    Genesis Rehab

Replaced the hood and the wood ... it has been a couple of years since I did this, but I'm still enjoying it every day.

    Pastrami from corned beef

I've been excited about making pastrami out of corned beef, but I just saw that the use-by or freeze-by date is May 14. Throw it out, or go for it? Today is June 21.

    Durawood

The Durawood on a grill I'm trying to clean up has indents in it where somebody placed something hot. I think maybe the end of a rotisserie. There are a lot of them. I wouldn't mind flipping the Durawood slats over, but what would I do about the screw holes? Has anybody done this?

Help Me Identify My New Weber

I had a similar frame that I did not know what to do with. Finally found out that a Silver B box and a Genesis Gold manifold would work. Here it is, but looking for other ideas.

Help Me Identify My New Weber

What about manifold and tubes? Same as 1000s?

That would be great news. I'll look into this.

    Manifold maintenance question

Hole is size of a fat pencil. I can't think of what besides a mouse it would be! It wasn't stuffed with straw and grass, just a few fibers, but who knows what's up inside it. The pliers fit, but I could only open them a tiny bit. I was not allowed to use the family tweezers! I did not see any...

    Manifold maintenance question

I was trying to return a Genesis 1000 manifold to active duty this weekend, since I am in need of a grill after having lent my top cooker to a new neighbor who doesn't have his utilities connected yet. The manifold had been lying inside a grill over the winter without a hose connected to it. So...

Need Help Identifying Grill and Some Parts

Great information. That's it! Thank you, BPratt and Bruce. I'm not the handiest person, but I enjoy working with the grills. If I were handy I would consider cutting a slot into the frame on both sides, so the manifold could slide into the frame somehow. I will also try to see if the manifold...

Need Help Identifying Grill and Some Parts

    >>Anyway, does the control panel otherwise fit the grill OK to include the valve holes being centered on the actual valves? Yes, if the panel could like flat, things seem like they would line up, using the shorter burn tubes, not the longer ones. (If this is a Silver B, then a 1000 and a...

Need Help Identifying Grill and Some Parts

Does anyone know what this is? A friend of mine gave me this sharp cart and some other parts, and I've been trying to make a grill out of it. The firebox I put in there seems to fit. It has five bars, and I assume it's a Genesis Silver B firebox, but I don't know for sure. The weird thing...

    Rehab beyond my skills?

Thanks for the good ideas and the tips to dig deeper into how I might do this. Now I feel reasonably confident that it can be done.

    Rehab beyond my skills?

A neighbor threw out an old gray kettle today and I rescued it for the time being so I could gather some intel on it. It is gray, as I said, with two nice metal handles (also gray) on the sides and a wooden handle on the lid. The vent rivet on the lid is installed in the lowercase b of Weber...

    Red Kettle Restore

After replacing the ash sweeper (thanks for the how-to), a happy ending: Last question on this: I know Weber makes replacement handles and I've seen custom-made replacement wood handles, but does anyone make basic replacement wood handles for a good price?

    Red Kettle Restore

Thank you for that advice. I hope to tackle the removal of the ash sweep system tomorrow. Today, I spent some time cleaning the lid. You can't really tell from the first three photos I posted, but there was some paint or heavy gook on the lid, concentrated on the very top of the lid, near the...
