Hoping to restore my 10 year old Weber Genesis Silver A

Ditto on the paint. Soda blasting is probably best but it costs. Scraping and sanding works. A good pressure wash can help. Your grill appears to be in good condition. It will clean up quite well. The SS grates and bars may take some elbow grease but they should clean up too.

Found the Grill of my dreams

Ok, add me to the list. You got me too, Rich. I was thinking as I read, " what the h*#% is he thinking???" I love the creativity. Think I'm going to copy and build me a cart. It would definitely come in handy.

Silver B refurb for my brother

Yes, I had the camo parts dipped, then had a high temp automotive clearcoat put on. My brother did like his grill, so that was cool. As for my next project, Rich? The wife says I have a few "projects" at home that need doing (deck repairs and she wants me to build a pizza oven & charcoal grill...

Silver B refurb for my brother

Ok my fellow grillers, the restoration of this Silver B for my brother is finally done... Just in time for Father's Day. My brother is a hunter (as am I) and thought this camo look would be better than all that grey plastic. I hope he likes it... upload photos[/IMG] upload...

    Genesis 1100 restoration

I agree! These older ones are timeless. I hope Weber keeps parts available as these refurbs seem to be a big hit across the country. I know I got the bug now! I'm finishing up a Silver B for my brother. Should have pics posted soon. And they do cook wonderfully.

Silver B refurb for my brother

Hey Eddie, right now I'm sanding (usually a wet sand) and pressure wash. But I'm trying to hook up with a soda blast guy I heard about. He's supposedly cheap, but I haven't gotten up with him yet. Ok, so I'm waiting on a few parts, then final assembly will commence. Waiting on Weber to send me...

    Free is good...

I've never cooked on a two burner. Don't really know how much difference there is. But free is good, and will sell easy if you ever choose to.

    Genesis 1100 restoration

That's gonna be a beauty when it's done. For parts I shopped between Amazon, Ebay, and Weber. If you have a serial number, register it with Weber, so you know exactly what you have. I believe it's a Genesis 1000 series like mine. You may need to get creative for things like the lid handle...

    red head restoration questions

Welcome! Sounds like a Genny 1000 to me as well. I used the Rustoleum Ultra High Heat for grills when I restored my 1100. Goes on nice after a thorough paint removal. I advise on top notch FB's and Rich's suggestion on rcplanebuyer is a solid one. I prefer CI grates to cook on. But you will find...

Silver B refurb for my brother

Hey Barry- I take all the paint off, then start it with a couple of coats of matte finish Rustoleum High Heat. I basically use that as a primer. Then I will move to the Rustoleum Ultra High Heat Semi-Gloss for the final coats. I find it to give the grill a deeper luster. Drawback is that it...
