Bad temps when TC and food probes both plugged in

Thanks for the advice guys. So I ended up clearing all of that flux out and trying it again. This time it would work for a quick second, and then return a "no pit probe" error. Ordered a new TC and it seems to be working much better. I'm thinking I had a bad TC. So far so good :)

Bad temps when TC and food probes both plugged in

Yes, I tried all 3 ports earlier and pretty much the same behavior.

Bad temps when TC and food probes both plugged in

I just soldered up my latest build last night and everything seems to be working great minus one little quirk: when both the TC and a food probe are plugged in, the temps are way off (in the 100's deg F). TC reads great by itself as well as all of the other probes, but both plugged in together =...

What a noob. Just trashed my brand new v4.2.4 build

Man, I made the exact same mistake on my first 4.2 build

    HM case ideas

search mcmaster.com for "sealing gland". I've used them on submersible SCUBA lights before with success

Free (semi-crippled) 4.2 heatermeter to who wants it

Ya I had thought about throwing in some jumpers and trying to fix but my laziness is far more strong that my patience =) I actually really enjoy soldering these PCB's together for some strange reason. Crank up some music and get to work! I surprised myself and successfully installed all of the...

Free (semi-crippled) 4.2 heatermeter to who wants it

EDIT: It has a new home! Wayne with the quickness! I built a 4.2 board up and botched the LCD soldering (don't drink and solder kids). I ended up getting it desoldered and turned around but the gold pads on the PCB got messed up in the process and I think some of the paths aren't connected...

Tom, are you that good with cutting sheet metal? Or how did you get the corners to look all sexy like in this pic? http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5533/12150983415_688279bcd6_b.jpg

    Linking HM to WWW

You might look through your router for a config setting called NAT loopback or something to that effect and enable it. Your router is blocking that kind of traffic as a security feature

Remote port should be 80 as well. Not familiar with your router, but you shouldn't have to put anything in "remote IP" field unless for security reasons you want to restrict which IP's are able to connect

First you need to make sure that you have a way to update the DDNS (noip.com) records from inside your network. If you have a home computer, noip.com should have a client you can install and leave running. This will replace setting the DDNS up in your router. After that, then you need to port...

    Better probes?

Mine do the exact same thing. Posted about it a few pages back but never found a resolution

    Better probes?

So I put the probe in ice water and it was very stable. Fired up the grill to 225 and it was bouncing around again. So strange. I also noticed that when I was moving the probe around getting it setup on the grill that it would lose connectivity from time to time. The HM was giving "no pit probe"...

    Better probes?

Ya the problem isn't that it's a degree or so off, it's that the temp reading is jumping around like crazy. I have it plugged in, check it out: http://heffay.homelinux.com:8088/luci So the pit probe is the Thermoworks and the Food1 is the Maverick. See how the temp is all over the place with...

    Better probes?

Just got my Thermoworks TX-1001X-OP probes in, setup the coefficients in HM and they seem to be fairly close to what the old 73's read, but the temp seems pretty sporadic. When the temp updates in the web interface it's jumping around from 71.1 to 71.7 every second or so. Almost seems random...

    3D Printed Barrel Servo/Fan

I really butchered my metal work on that thing. I just got a cheap piece of aluminum from Lowes and used a flat head screw driver to punch the "H" pattern in it for the 1" tubing. Advice: it looks nicer to have the tube protrude into the grill, but it's a PITA to get in and out since you can't...
