Weber 57cm lid question for a UDS

Hello, I was going to build a mini-WSM but lack of a suitable pot in the UK has sent me down the UDS route. I'd like to have a Weber kettle lid and am trying to figure out the best options. Weber UK quoted me over £200 for a new lid - mental!!! A used 57cm would be perfect but they're hard...

47cm One touch blades fitted onto a Smokey Joe?

Has anyone ever fitted these onto a smokey joe to sort out the ash problem? I was thinking a Smokey Joe Gold/Premium with these fitted would work pretty well? I guess you'd have to bend and maybe even trim the blades as well as drilling a couple of holes per blade. What do you think...

Which smokey joe for a mini WSM.

What's the consensus on which version is best, vent in the bottom or one on either side? I'm looking for a used one at the moment and was wondering if one worked better than the other. Although the new crimson one is pretty awesome!

    Steamer pot in the UK?

I'm desperate to build a mini WSM or mod a Jumbo Joe, but I'm struggling to find a pot over here. Can't find the Vasconia anywhere. Does anyone have a link to something online in the UK. I know it's a long shot but maybe someone can help. The ones that I've found online that may fit are just...

New BBQ day in the UK - a charcoal Go Anywhere - any tips?

Hello, I've been wanting one of these for ages but they stopped selling them in the Uk. I bought a Jumbo Joe but it was 'decreed' that it was too big to pack in our camper van :roll eyes: I would have gone for the Smokey Joe Silver, not the Gold, but it looked a bit awkward to transport. But...

First cook on my new Kettle - smoked spatchcocked chicken.

Morning all, Finally got round to my first cook last night, had to wait till the kids were in bed and it was raining, but hey, we soldier on! I'd really appreciate any feedback on anything I should do differently. I'd invested in a few basic pieces of equipment: An oven thermometer Thermapen...

Advice for first cook, chicken quarters.

Hello, I'm gonna do some quarters for my first cook and am looking for some advice as to what temp and how long. Probably will do some jerk and some Provençal. I'm planning to do indirect and crisp the skin direct at the end. Will one chimney of coals do I will I need to refill? And I was...

How accurate is the lid thermometer in the One touch premium? And other newbie Q's!

I'll be doing my first cook on my new 57cm kettle and I'm wondering about using the lid thermometer as a guide to know when I'm at the right temp. Is it usable? I've also got a cheap oven thermometer to pop on the grate. My thermapen hasn't arrived yet. Expensive hobby this bbq lark isn't it...

New Weber 57cm kettle, how tight should the lid be?

Hi, My new One Touch Premium arrived yesterday, s-weet! Quick question, how snug should the lid be? I looked at a jumbo joe the other day and the lid was really tight. On this one the lid has at least 5mm travel side to side. Is that ok? All in all it's just what I was looking for, can't...

New guy in the UK thinking about getting first Weber.

Hi, Up until now, I've just been grilling on a makeshift hibachi style using a black and decker workbench, a baking tray, an oven rack and some bricks. Unsophisticated I know, but the old B&D barbecue-mate has served me proud! But now I'm thinking that I'm missing something by not having a lid...
