    Heatermeter Fan Issue..

Good catch on the Q1 as it does appear as though it was bent out of shape, and one of the prongs broken. I'll get that fixed/replaced and try again. Cliff

    Heatermeter Fan Issue..

OK, this was an easy test. With everything in pieces, and only plugging power into the HM board, without the atmega chip, the fan comes on and stays on. I'm attaching pics of my board. Cliff

    Heatermeter Fan Issue..

I'm checking this now. That being said, I'm having a hard time believing it's not a software of control issue. The fan is obviously getting voltage on the line, otherwise, it would not turn on at all. Cliff

    Heatermeter Fan Issue..

OK, I tried this, but the fan still does not shut off and the damper is closed completely. I even tried resetting the heatermeter by pulling power and letting it reset, and by doing a full reboot from the menu. For a bit more info, I'm running 4.3 and an early version of the firmware. No...

    Heatermeter Fan Issue..

OK, it's been a while since I had messed with my heatermeter, mainly because I was pretty frustrated and could not get it working or even monitoring temps correctly. That being said, today I had some time at home with an empty stove and decided to do some testing. So, what I determined is I...

Reset to defaults, now fan won't shut off

Ok, this is 100% my fault and now I'm quit frustrated that I can't get my settings correct. Back story.. I got up early Sunday morning to fire up the Egg and smoke some pork. I hook everything up, and for some reason I can't get the damper to open or close, no matter what temps I have set...

First cook - pit probe problems

Still having a problem for some reason. The Pit is sitting at home, no fire. The Thermocoupler is reading 86 degrees and Probe 1 is reading over 700 degrees. See the link above for actual current readings. Also, while running and maintaining 400 degrees on Sunday night, all appeared to be...

Heatermeter 4.3, Damper Servo acting weirdly

I ordered and have this one. https://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B009NP4K40/tvwb-20 I haven't had a chance to tweak it any more since last week, but hope to have some time this afternoon. Cliff

Heatermeter 4.3, Damper Servo acting weirdly

OK, After more testing (Trial and Error), I appear to have the settings OK up to about 80%, then it goes weird. By weird, I mean, goes past what I have 100% set at, and reverses back. I guess as long as I don't need full open, I should never have a problem, but when getting up to sear temps...

Heatermeter 4.3, Damper Servo acting weirdly

Interesting. I was unaware that I could type in a percentage in the Web interface to enable or disable the fan/servo. That being said, I have tried clicking the invert box and that does not appear to be correcting the issue at this point. Is there calibration instructions for the...

Heatermeter 4.3, Damper Servo acting weirdly

I just received my parts for my damper and I'm trying to get everything working correctly, however, I am having trouble getting the damper to act correctly. The Damper opens and closed, but at about 90% it becomes erratic and goes beyond it's limits. At other times, the servo chatters, and...

First cook - pit probe problems

Thanks for the help. On FB and here, I'll, do the tweezers test showed 86 degrees, when in reality, it is in the mid to low 60's outside. Cliff

First cook - pit probe problems

Yes, they look good up to 210 degrees. At 550 degrees pit temp, my thermistor temp is at the same temp, or close enough. http://pehome.pewebhost.com:8081/cgi-bin/luci The interesting part is after plugging in the thermistor/meat probe, it appears to be working ok. Cliff
