    Kingsford on Sale

Didn't realize you bought that much! I'll be satisfied getting 3 of the twin packs. I'll pass that own to Brett via my brother-in-law. He's a farm equipment salesman and visits Brett on a regular basis on sale calls.

    Kingsford on Sale

Is Lowe's that strict? When there's limits at other stores, all I have to do is take one pack out to the car, walk back in and buy another pack. Repeat until you get your desired number of bags.

    Kingsford on Sale

Hey, guys! Check your local Lowe's ad this weekend. My local store has the 2pack of Kingsford 20lb bags on sale for $9.88. Time to stock up! Usually, Home Depot will do this as well, so check that ad if it's your store of choice.

Help with getting a OTG to low temp

Thanks, everyone for all the help! I set out this weekend to grill some thick pork chops according to Meathead's recipe. I covered the indirect side of the charcoal grate with some foil to help airflow, and then constructed a 2x2 snake. With your help, I was able to keep a steady 216 degrees...

Help with getting a OTG to low temp

A follow-up question One quick question regarding the snake method. Everything I read says it's for long cooks. What about if you need a low temp but only for 30 minutes to an hour, like with this recipe? Would I just make a shorter snake?

    South Mississippi Represent!

Howdy, y'all. I'm Tim Evans. I live in Hattiesburg, Mississippi and I recently purchased a copper 22" OTG. I've owned a Spirit E-310 for about 7 or 8 years (If you know the serial number, is there any way to find out when it was manufactured?), but I was lured into the charcoal world by that...

Greetings from the Land of Cotton (Oxford, MS)

Hello from another Mississippian and new member! I'm down in Hattiesburg, but spent four years up in Oxpatch. My nephew is up there now on the Reb's baseball team. I've had an E-310 for about seven or eight years, and have recently purchased a OTG.

Help with getting a OTG to low temp

Thanks, all. I'll try the minion or snake for my next "low" cook.

    Plan B for lighting coals

Coming late to the party, but do you get the sale papers delivered in the mail? I've used those or tore up a pizza box. The parts soaked in grease from the pizza really work well.

Help with getting a OTG to low temp

I'm relatively new to charcoal. I've been the proud owner of a 22" OTG for two weeks. I've been doing some dry runs as suggested at amazingribs.com. I have no problem getting a steady temp in the 325 range ( but I have to have the bottom damper almost completely closed for that), but getting...
