I know this has been discussed in a couple of other threads but I'd love to be able to review this again. Can the HM be set up securely from Heartbleed attacks and what the best way?
Thanks Bryan, I'll go with v10. I deal with enough beta testing and experimentation with my company's stuff so I'm ok with leaving the debugging and development to you HM experts. By the way, before I forget, I need to say thanks to you and the others for the excellent project. I've really...
OK, all is well now. It appears the broken SD card hosed something up. As described earlier I flashed a new SD card. Plugged in the Cat5, restored all of the network, WiFi stuff and then power cycled things. Thanks for the help. I'm loving the Heatermeter and really appreciate the tech...
I can go in to Linkmeter with the Cat5. Could low voltage to the Rpi be causing problems with driving the USB? Is there a test point on the HM or Rpi I can check for correct voltage to USB?
Resat the HM to the Rpi, no luck
Found the SD card case had broken so I suspected a bad SD card - replaced with a new card and put the latest firmware (6-14) on. - No luck
Reset the HM - no luck
Rpi LED's
ACT - Green to then flashing green (reading SD card?)
PWR - Red (good 3.3v)
FDX - off

Hello all, looking for a little advice in troubleshooting a dead WiFi adapter.
I'm working with a HM v4.1. It was working fine for my last cook but the next time I have no WiFi. The Edimax adapter doesn't light up, flash, etc.
Yes, that's what I'd like to have in what I would consider a "ideal" set up. What configuration have you find works the best for bbq at low temps (250F) for long times (10+ hrs)?
Steve, what I want to do is have the servo cycle 0-100% without the fan running. The fan will run 0-100% only with the servo @ 100%. Can this be accomplished?
At the end of the day.....follow instructions and ye shall be rewarded. The final outcome of this turned out to be a conflict between the WiFi and wired ethernet connection on the Rpi.
Bryan explains it very well in this thread...
Never mind. I took a deep breath and went back to basics. I unplugged everything in my house that might grab an IP address. Now I can connect to the Rpi and the Heatermeter BBQ control page.
Hi Steve,
I'm actually having more problems with the initial setup to get it on my WiFi network. I plug in with wired ethernet, I can ping the Rpi but can't pull up Linkmeter in a web browser, Mac or PC.
