    1. Both HeaterMeters have been working for over a year. 2. I know the Pi is not booting because of the LEDs on the Pi. The power LED is on but the activity LED does nothing. 3.     Mostly Dead HeaterMeters

    I have 2 that exhibit the same problem...the Pi does not boot when the HeaterMeter is attached. Pi boots fine without it. One of the boards does display No Pit Probe. Both had been working fine Any ideas on where to start?

    My ~$3 Grill Connection

    I went through the same process before I bought my BGE and am extremely happy with my choice. 1. Instead of a table, I built a dry stack using 12x6 wall pavers top with a 3/4" slate top that match my patio. Egg sits right not top and it can be moved. 2. I have one, but don't really use it often.

    Also, Ralph's method of using sheet copper and a copper fitting soldered together worked great for me. i use a piece of 1" pool hose to connect it to my fan. It does allow some airflow when the fan is off, but i have solved that with some silicone. It has the advantage of being very sturdy...

    Use rice. There may be residual water in the SD card or under something unless you left it sit in a hot place and all of the water evaporated.

    Strange. Setting FORMAT SIZE ADJUSTMENT to on has always removed all of the partitions and thus the config file for me. This drove me crazy until I found SD Formatter.

    If you reformat with SD Formatter you need to set FORMAT SIZE ADJUSTMENT to ON for it to wipe all partitions.

    Stick it in a bag of rice for a couple of days and see what happens.

    Takes about 2 seconds unless you do a full overwrite.

    and the sheet of copper was hard copper not soft, correct? How thick?
