    The Searwood has arrived!

Just recently joined the pellet grill club, with a Broil King. I admit not to have done that many cooks, love the convenience, but not converted yet to the amount of smokiness of a PG. My son has a gravity fed Masterbuilt, which for those that don't know uses charcoal, and you can add wood...

Smokefire Stealth EPX4 won't reach more than 250C/480F

My BK ramps up changing from smoke to roast, and roast to sear. As does the regularity of auger movements and time duration. With my faulty grill, the controller just didn't add enough pellets, for long enough to go from 250'C to 315'C.

I think I'd go back to Weber. I emailed all sorts at BK, posted on facebook pages, then suddenly BK MD rang me...........

I'm new to pellet grills, but if you leave them in the hopper, they will get exposed to the atmospheric conditions. I always keep my Digestive Biscuits in a biscuit tin, otherwise they will be too soft for dunkin!

@Yngve Nordby has this always been the case? My Broil King 500, did exactly the same. Just wouldn't get over 260'C. BK try replacing hot rod, temperature sensor. In the end replaced the grill. It was suspected it was the controller. Apparently, they have a problem with one on four with...

The fire pot etc, all looks a bit finicky & flimsy to me as well.

Damn it. This BK doesn't work. They've gave me a refund, but don't want the thing back!

Well BK say the grill can reach 600'F. Since I've had the 500, sometimes it plateaus at 60'C, sometimes it reaches 260'C, when the set point is 315'C. Its unreliable. I grilled some steaks the first night I had (260) and they were a bit undercooked. I thought that was becaues the ambient temp...

Just thought I'd update, if anyone's interested. Had my Regal 500 for two weeks now. I can't get it above 260'C, 500'F old money. Replaced the hot rod, temperature probe and two BK people look at it. Yesterday told to remove the wifi, just to make sure the app wasn't imposing itself, apparently...

Bit cheeky posting this here.....but. I'm looking around for a pellet grill to fit my needs. I've not completely ruled out a Weber, but been looking at Pit Boss & Traeger ones. But this Broil King one has caught my eye. Broil King Regal 500 Pro I understand Broil King have any just started...
