Using servo to control gas grill valve?

Actually with my gas smoker this is not the case, specially with the changes in outside temperature, water levels and wood. And with colder tempers the propane in the tank actually start to lose some of its pressure.

    Heatermeter build issues

Some tips I can give you is make sure the pad is completely covered with solder, also I use sliver bearing solder because it has a lower melting point then most other lead free solders.

    connecting a 120 fan?

Only if he wants on or off fan and not a modulating fan.

    connecting a 120 fan?

PC fans are not very common at least with what I have seen, Blower fans work much better then PC fans by far. Also it is possible to use your 120 fan but I wouldn't think it be worth your time. You have to create a totally separate controller for the fan that takes the DC fan voltage and uses...

Question about port fowarding and multiple IP address

I don't understand your network at all, I think you are making the network much more complicated then it needs to be with multiple routers running DHCP services. Port triggering may work but it only opens on an outbound connection request.

Question about port fowarding and multiple IP address

I don't think it works that way. Because you only have one actually IP address. So your outside ip address is what the ISP assigns you so you can have only one possible port 80 connection coming into or out the router. The router can only forward the connection to one device if not it would...

    Another HM story

What really funny is that, I live in a smallish town. However I was at the post office by my work in a major city I expected to hear talk about current events but that guy talking about grilling with a Rpi. I was like no way.

    Another HM story

I was at the post office waiting of course and I over heard a clerk and a customer talking about always burning their meat and the customer started talking about this thing his brother did with soldering and a Rhaspberry Pi. I was like I know what that is then I engaged in convo with them but...

Ordered all parts - what else do I need?

I believe anything above 128 mb should work. You'll have more of a problem with the RPi not liking the card then anything. I have had 2 sd cards not work with the RPi but worked just fine in a camera or computer. edit: Damn it Bryan :)
