    WEBR: Crisis/Opportunity?

Weber, Inc. today replaced its chief executive, suspended its dividend and withdrew financial guidance for the year. $6.56 at market close, down more than 50% this year. Trying to decide whether I should sell my (modest) holdings, hang in there, or double down . . .

Aaaaaaaaand, we're smoking. Pit master roll call . . .

On the East Coast, it begins. West Hartford, Connecticut checking in. Brisket on the bullet.:wsm22:

    Saratoga Steaks?

Thanks, all. I went out and got some nice ribeyes instead. The "mock" tenders will go into a "real" chili, soup, or stew.

    Saratoga Steaks?

Hoping that someone here can help me out. My wife is hosting an event this evening that will be attended by several other women, and had asked me to grill some filets to be thinly sliced and served on crostini as an hors d'ouevre. I told her that, of course, I would be happy to help. This...

    26.5" Kettle

Gary, I do not own a 26" kettle, and cannot make a recommendation on it. However, if your goal is limited to additional clearance, you can accomplish that for less $ through the use of a rotisserie ring on your 22".

    Performer Lid

The slide-aside attachment for the OTS/OTG gives waaay better clearance than the Performer's "tuck-away" system. Kind of a shame, given the mighty premium that Weber charges for the Performer.

New OTS - So excited. But why did I not buy before??? Ha!

I urge you to get the slide-aside. You won't regret it.

    Ladies & Gentlemen...Start Your Smokers!

There's smoke over West Hartford . . . Pork butt already on; brisket rubbed and curing.

what is the appeal of the performer?

In addition to everything that has already been said, the Performer's cooking surface is a few inches higher, which makes a surprising difference for a man of even average height - I imagine this would be a VERY attractive feature for a taller cook. Also, the Performer's cart offers far more...

    charcoal bins or not?

I have a set of the old style wire bins that came with my 1991 Performer w/o gas assist. I use a chimney to start my coals, and a dedicated set of old tongs to arrange my lit coals. If I am using the rotisserie, I use one of those Weber charcoal racks to hold the pile of coals off to the side...

    Kettle Turkey

    A 12 - 14 lb bird should fit easily into a 22" kettle.
