Weber Genesis 1000 Redhead for sale

No, I don't want to spend the time that would entail. I need to clear this out by next week. For people into that sort of thing I don't see how they could lose money; the SS flavorizer bars and cast iron grates must be worth nearly that much by themselves.

Weber Genesis 1000 Redhead for sale

I've got a Weber Genesis 1000 Redhead for sale. It’s had upgrades: stainless steel flavorizer bars and cast iron grill grates. It’s always been stored in the garage and is in good shape except for the frame which rusted (somehow) and developed a serious “drunken lean”. The frame may be fixable...

Is my Genesis 1000 resigned to the dustheap of history?

Thanks for your post. Is the two burner silver the same size frame as my three burner Genesis 1000? If so, I may have to look into this. It would be worth it, all it'd need then is cleaning and reassembly. Although things never work out as simply as anticipated. :)

Is my Genesis 1000 resigned to the dustheap of history?

After considerable thought I’ve decided to keep using the Jumbo Joe that I bought as a “temporary” measure. It seems to fit most of my grilling needs and buy a Pit Barrel Cooker for smoking. The Redhead will be sold for parts. $50, if I can get it, otherwise, I’ll just scrap it. If anyone near...

    Jumbo Joe, here I come!

The grilling season is passing quickly and so as not to waste any more of it, I just ordered a Jumbo Joe and a few accessories from Amazon. I haven’t used charcoal since my Hibachi days in college so is Kingsford still a good brand? I still have some mesquite and apple wood chips that I used...

Is my Genesis 1000 resigned to the dustheap of history?

Thanks Bob. It takes me a little while to get things set up but I'll try to get some pics this afternoon. I would like to fix this if possible but if not, at least I got over two decades of use out of it. It's not like I didn't get my money's worth. Again, thanks to all the helpful people on...

Is my Genesis 1000 resigned to the dustheap of history?

I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your remarks about my “apparent lack of skills”. It’s very helpful and only serves to make be happy I found this site. The ability of people to make strangers feel welcome over the Internet never ceases to amaze me. Btw, if you happen to see me someday...

    Just bought a Jumbo Joe

I just got back from Target and the BBQ section was pretty bare. They had a Stok and other brands I wouldn't want. They had some boxes of Jumbo Joe's but they are holding those over till next year, not going on sale I was told.

Is my Genesis 1000 resigned to the dustheap of history?

Now I'm thinking that it would make more sense to see if he could weld tabs back on the frame and then I could assemble it the way it's supposed to work. Oh, yeah, one final thing I screwed up. I couldn't get the burners out and thought the guide screws at the left rear and left front of the...

Is my Genesis 1000 resigned to the dustheap of history?

I just got a callback from a welding shop I called yesterday and left a message. The guy said he could weld the legs on for $40. Sounds reasonable. Anyone have ideas if this is a good idea or should I try something else?

As you can see, I am to photography what Michael Moore is to jogging. If any more shots would help, let me know.

Ok, let's see if I've got this photobucket thing figured out. Here's a pic, if it works. So when I post this there'll be a photo, right? I hope it's not the nude of my girlfriend, my wife will be really angry.

    Just bought a Jumbo Joe

The Jumbo Joe is looking pretty good to me as something to use while I decide if it's possible for me to fix my Genesis 1000. I wish they'd made the dome a couple of inches higher, though. I'm missing the grillin' season. I can't sous vide everything!

Thanks for that. I'll have to study that. I do have basic hacksaw and drilling skills so grill repair, maybe but brain surgery, no.
