Yea I considered that - I even spent some time trying to track down a thick rod stainless bun warmer grated that is close to the correct size (16"x10"). The problem is, there are no grates that I could find that have more than a single long rod. Would prefer two supporting rods if at all possible
I'm willing to pay shipping from overseas if that's what it takes. I've fallen back in love with my charcoal WGA - we are having an addition built that has put my other grills out of commission. I've been super impressed with the WGA but the factory grate leaves a lot to be desired. I know Killa...
I'm still peeved at the grillgrate I bought for my CGA. It lifts the lid off the top enough to see the grates, tons of extra airflow. It won't snuff out charcoal and makes it impossible to run low temps. Pretty well known problem. I contact grillgrates and they suggested using an angle grinder...
There are people selling these for $900, how are folks coming up with that value? I have one, nearly unused, with a spare brand new lid and bowl (original had underspray where you can see black on the bottom but it's not super noticeable). $900 seems pretty outrageous for a $430 grill?
I'm a little skeptical.... The spot welds aren't going to transfer a lot of heat, and a huge part of the appeal of the Q is that the grates themselves get hot as they are an integral part of the "deflector" vs separate. Not to mention, cleaning those would have to be a nightmare
Before you spend money, double check the ceramic bushings that hold the bottom aluminum shell to the plastic frame. If they're broken, they are hard to find. Check my post here https://tvwbb.com/threads/time-to-put-this-q200-to-pasture-or-save-it.82836/
Edit: Also might be different in your...
Thanks guys. I actually just found my old post here of a Q200 I tossed, but saved the parts/burner/etc

Thanks all. This does have the older style tank holder that I had to bend out to fit the green bottles. It's old but in great shape, but $65 shipped eesh. For what I use it for I don't want to convert to 20lb tank setup. I'll just cough up the money for a regulator !
I have a Weber q220, older that has hardly been used. Sat in my basement for a few years. Took it to the beachhouse to replace the q100 after 10 years of salty air.
The q220 randomly won’t stay lit. I’ve tried new propane bottles no luck. It will sometimes run fine for 20-30 minutes. It happens...
John, I have mine in the instant pot now. Indirect on the kettle until 165f, then set instant pot for 11 minutes before googling and finding your recipe and changed to 20 minutes.
Thinking about doing a suckling pig on the 26" kettle or 22" WSM to go along with the turkey this year.
Who has done it? How much did yours weigh? Any tips on technique?
