just my two penneth but would the position off the lid make any difference to lid temp variations ...just been looking at those thermal pictures and it appears nearer the door seems to be where the heat is. if the lid therm was above the door compared to 180 degree round the other side ...

DONT DO IT !!!!! Ive had both and there is no comparison the weber is a different breed .HONESTLY. the pro q do not hold temp like a wsm .. it will fade after a year..where the wsm will stay as new for ever .. the WSM is a BEAST

I think it would be very easy to fabricate some legs and fit some air vents and attach a cooking grate and hey presto a mini grill is born ,,,its just the lid to finish it off ,,has any body any ideas ,,,,cheers..PS i now use a clay saucer to replace the water pan

Howdy all, just wandering if anybody has any simalar recipe,s to Cimarron Doc's Rib Rub,its become a favourite in our house a late but its hard to get hold of here in the UK.Ive tried making quite a few rubs but can never match this one so has anybody a simalar recipe i can try..?

never had an ECB but the WSM IS GONNER BLOW YOUR SOCKS OFF it really is that good ,,,had mine a few years now,i live in the uk and use it all year round ,it cleans up as good as new and holds temps to perfection . long live my weber and my performer and my OTS ..the best

Were just coming upto the end of the bbq seasen here in the uk and supplies of charcoal are dwindling short in the shops .I never really stop through the winter just probably smoke more and grill on the odd sunny day, so was just wandering where every body else gets coal during the dark nights.???

Hello john,just a stab in the dark but is it the new WSM with the thermometer in the lid ,they tend to give a lower reading.I,d give water a miss aswell and use a clay saucer ive never looked back.

I have the 47cm one touch silver ,the one without the ash catcher but would like to upgrade it and fit the ash catcher,has anybody done this and what parts would i need .

mine was just the same ,all i did was bend the tabs back with a pair of pliers once the heat shield is in place,its never come loose since.

Would you mind posting the above recipe ,im very interested to see which recipe comes out top,s on this post ,i myself like the britu one with a touch less salt aswell.

well it looks really good ...i do fancy making something simalar due to the weather in england as we move all the bbq,s from bottom of garden to top in winter and in summer when its raining,,your design is very good ,i love it ,so neat and the handle would finish it off ,brill
