On my green performer i did replace both as the tube was rusted out and needed repair. I find myself rarely using them since weber either by design or by accident extended the tube frame where it's easier to just pickup and move like a wheelbarrow.
thanks, it's a huge leap to almost 2k to get a properly made square tube cart and stainless table top from weber now. The only way I'd get rid of one of my two performer is if can find a weber kamado with cart cheap.
I also bought the SnS elevated grate but have not used it on the charcoal grill. It is somewhat custom made to fit into the SnS grate handles for secure fit. But i did use it in my Spirit 2 burner gasser. It fit perfectly in it and allowed me to get more indirect heat on a tri tip after I gave...
not sure if you're asking me or OP. Smoke n Sear is lighter and 20 dollars cheaper. Also handles are welded on top so it's easy to spin. There are times I just throw on the grate without any care to it's orientation. It would then be super difficult to spin it as the the welds hit the supports...
EE 1999 Weber redhead with no dents. Picked up under 100 on craiglist. I have two stainless performers now, also have a DD green one fully restored.
Cleaning: Washed, used carbon off, and scraped interior and did a high heat burn off before I started taking her apart. I had never seen any grill...
debated killa grilla or smokensear grates. Went with smokensear due to being able to spin them freely and the large charcoal gate only one side. Only wish smokensear went with that thicker gauge of the the killa
Been away from the board a while and actually my second time doing work on it. When I got 5 years ago it had a rusted out caster that i fixed and purchased new regulator and tank to make it functional and used it for a long time. Also got a weber stainless cooking grate back when they still...
I take my newly purchased opd valve 5lb tank with me sometimes on the road with to gas go anywhere. It would be nice to top it off with a 20 lb tank first before I leave. Never thought of refilling it at home. Do you have to turn the 20lb upside down? Any videos of the process.?
I once had a pickup and took 2 pairs of pliers. One of them was a pain and I got lucky I wacked it a few times and it didn't crack the aluminum. I thought about coming back with a Dremel in case I couldn't remove the cotter pin or the bolt but was lucky I got it out by twisting the bolt free...
