    22.5" Modifications Complete

Darren - that would cost way too much to send to the UK - very little CJ stuff is available here - only the door and latch. I would like to replace the coal ring with a Hunsaker Vortex Fire Basket but they have no dealers outside of the USA and I think that shipping would be prohibitive. I...

My thanks to all for their replies. As Chris said, it is part of the fun to try new things! David

    Sand. How much?

After seeing T-Roy Cooks' experiments comparing water, sand alone and sand & water I want to try using sand in my water pan. Can someone who has sand in their 22.5" WSM please tell me how much to buy? Do you fill the water pan with sand and then foil over it to keep grease drippings out of the...

I finally completed all the modifications that I plan on doing to my 22.5" WSM: * Cajun Bandit Door * Cajun Bandit Wheels * Cajun Bandit Cylinder Clamps (to stop the lower and middle parts separating while i wheel the WSM around) * Unknown BBQ Hinge * ProSmoke FireBlack seal around the top rim...

22.5" Model: Permanently Attaching Bottom Bowl to Cylindrical Mid-section?

I always make certain that the hinge is directly above one of the 'legs' and have not had any problems with instability.

    Completed my 18.5 WSM mods.....

I bought some similar 'plugs' from eBay, how do you get over the little lugs on the inside of the vent? I cannot get my plugs to sit flush. I was thinking of cutting a bit off but thought I'd see what you did first .... Thanks - this thread has stimulated me to loads of mods on my 18.5" WSM!

    Does this look familiar?

Love it! I would love to have the skills to be able to do a project like this! Well done!

    Auto temp control for WSM

For me it is a CyberQ Wifi ... set it and forget it. I monitor it using either a browser or more usually 'The Pit Pal' on my iPhone.

    Cajun Bandit

I did! I got hold of Chris Perres who was very responsive. The problem is at the UK end! It seems that my door has been sitting in UK customs waiting for clearance for almost two weeks now! This thread can be deleted!

    Cajun Bandit

Does anyone know whether Cajun Bandit have stopped trading? I have been waiting for a door and latch for my 18.5" WSM for about five weeks now and the UK re-seller (www.gocookoutdoors.com) just says he is waiting for them .... should I be asking for my money back do you think? David

    WSM Hanging Rack

The rack was never sold here in the UK as far as I am aware. I managed to find one in a Barbecue store in Spain, order it and have it sent over. It cost a fortune but has transformed my WSM 18.5"!

How to cook ribs and burnt ends at the same time .....

This is how I approached it (and with advice from some guys over at amazingribs.com): I started with the burnt ends on the top and the ribs on the bottom. They were both going to be three hour smokes. The ribs were in one of those racks where they stand upright (if my Weber Hanging Rack had...

    Completed my 18.5 WSM mods.....

Seeing your steel hole plugs (and now I need to search for some over here in England), it makes me think it is a shame that BBQ Guru don't supply them instead of silver sticky tape with their kits! I have the CyberQ Wifi and it is eye-wateringly pricy so a couple of cents worth of plugs...

    Mods made a difference

Hello everybody, I've made some mods on my WSM and I am waiting for a roll of gasket material to arrive from Amazon here in the UK. The one I ordered (due to very limited choice to be honest) is ProSmoke FireBlack. It is self-adhesive and my intention is to seal around the top of the middle...
