    2 Smokers or Just 1?

TY!!! The butts are now pulled, bagged, and in the freezer waiting for our camping trip next week. The first time I smoked the 3- ~9lb butts all on the top rack, I just leaned them against each other. Started thinking there had to be a better way, and thought of the skewers. Should add that I...

    2 Smokers or Just 1?

It’s funny how some things work out. I was t looking forward to possibly how long the smoke could take due to having other things to do as well. Wed I checked to see how the butts were thawing, and the two larger ones which I out in the kitchen fridge seemed to be thawed. BUT the two smaller...

Ideas for new things to smoke

How about pizza??? It’s something I need to try again... I did it when I first got the smoker, but it was a little strong on the smoked flavor....

    2 Smokers or Just 1?

TY for confirming what I figured was the best route. I may even try to fit the 8lb on top with the 7.5 & 7.8lb butts... I have smoked 3, ~9lb/ea butts all on the top rack before. It did take a while.... So I will probably wrap this time (usually don’t) and smoke at a little higher temp. Have...

    2 Smokers or Just 1?

I am going to be smoking 4 pork butts this next w/e, that vary some in size. Just wondering how you guys would suggest the set up. Pork butts are: 7.5 7.8 8.0 9.5 I have both a 14” and 18” WSM. I have smoked very similar sized butts on the same smoker all at once, but do you think it will be...

    A Logistical Question

Depending on how big the butts are, you should be able to get them both on the top rack. If needed, place them on their side with the fc out. I smoked 3 butts on the top rack of my 18" that were just short of 27lbs total. All in their side with the fc out. Use some skewers to keep them upright...

    18.5 Cover Material?

Glad to hear Weber sent a new cover!!! I haven't really noticed a difference between my 14" & 18" covers. I have had my 18" for a little over 3yra now, and the cover is still holding up great! Very easy to slide on & off after 3yrs, never any issues with it sticking to the wsm. The 14" is still...

    4 Butts

Rusty, TY for the reply!!! I had always planned on ordering the brinkman charcoal pan, just never did. Now they are out of business.... Maybe I will get lucky and find one for a decent price still. Chris, Not sure if it will work, but when I had 3- ~9lb butts on the top rack of my 18", I...

    Transporting the Weber Smokey Mountain.

Do not remove any seasoning!! Just bag it as mentioned in some large, heavy duty bags. Do you have a car or truck? I have taken ours camping. If a truck, use a cargo bar to help keep in place with a tie down strap. Good luck!!!

    First WSM attempt

Chris, Welcome and congrats on the first smoke on the WSM!!! Not sure how much a Maverick remote thermometer goes for there, but consider one as they are awesome!!! I have two of the 732's and have been very happy with them. For my 14" I bought an empty paint can (I think it is a pint size)...

Got my 14.5" for $70 and here are my mods.....

T, TY!!! Didn't realize the grate was the same as the SJ.

Got my 14.5" for $70 and here are my mods.....

Randall, TY for the gasket link!!! I did the same with the square u-bolts, but used exanded metal as my "second grate" (already had it). The u-bolts don't extend down though, great idea!!! For this who used a second charcoal grate, where did you find it and how much do they run? May buy a 14"...
