Amazon has a deal going on for Maverick ET-73's

I bought one for $49.99 at BBQ galore - so $50 on Amazon does not seem like a great deal. Simply the going everyday price. BTW, my ET-73 is fine...when it works. Both probes have gone out twice (that's 4 probes) in a few months. And the base unit and transmitter lose connection frequently...

    Wood for Beef Tenderloin?

I would use the white oak for now, and see if you can get your hands on red oak just for comparisons sake. Either should be very nice for your tenderloin.

    Wood for Beef Tenderloin?

I have done a lot of beef (mainly tenderloins) using lump charcoal (mesquite or Royal Oak), and using white or red oak for wood. Been very pleased with the flavor of oak and beef. I did try Pecan at different times and I did not care for it. Not sure if you can get the red oak elsewhere, but...

    weber poultry roaster

Hey Mike, As of late, they have been marked down to $15 at both Home Depot and Dixieline lumber (Dixieline may be local to SoCal). I ended up buying about 7 total and gave away a 3, so I still have 4 I think. They work great, and Weber will replace anything that goes wrong. One of the...

New 2007 Genesis - Regular vs. Premium

I too am wondering when we will see "Made in China" Webers as a rule? Although that usually bothers me a bit (quality concerns, not economic or political concerns), with the backing of a company like Weber it becomes much less important to me, assuming they continue to offer a generous warranty...

    Fusion Chicken on the Rotisserie

Well the name is probably not too accurate... There is a rub and a baste for the whole chicken, which I did on the rotisserie. I am sure you could do a stand up chicken or chicken pieces too. Rub (adjust ratio to taste): 3 parts Cumin 2 parts Sea Salt 1 part Coarsely Ground Pepper 2 parts...

New Summit Gold D4 for $800. Should I?

OK, thanks for the reply regarding the Summit. It is pretty much everything I want (except maybe 2 more burners). But that is not a deal breaker. I think I will go for it if they agree to convert it for NG. I got 3 SS performers in a very short time from Craigslist. Got the first one, fell...

New Summit Gold D4 for $800. Should I?

I have a chance to buy a Summit Gold D4 for $800 brand new & assembled from a local Weber authorized dealer. I am in the market, and it seems to fit my needs. I just wondered how good of a deal this is? Should I jump on it and forget the newer models? Or is it merely warm? Since I was...

New 2007 Genesis - Regular vs. Premium

So just to be sure... If a Genesis S-320 goes for $749 most places, the premium would be about $719, and come with larger 3/8" grates at the cost of a painted (not SS) lid? Do you have any similar info regarding the Summits? Thanks Chris

    Genesis grill brush

I have also been buying all sorts of brushes. The next one on my list is the Steve Raichlen "Monster Grill Brush". Looks convincing on his TV show Looks like it has both brass (for cast iron?), and SS bristles for SS.

Genisis Silver B changes next yr

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-title">quote:</div><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-content">Originally posted by Mike McGrath: With the apparent focus on increasing cooking area in the new genesis grills, has anyone heard if they will follow suit with the kettles...

Genisis Silver B changes next yr

For units with burners, it is on the left side flush mount with a nice flat cover (SS?). The grates on the Genesis E are listed as porcelainenameled cast iron (I thought only Home Depot had those previously?) The grates on the Genesis S, appear to be 1/4" SS rods (listed as 7mm). The black...

Summit Silver B New on Craigslist

Hey thanks for the info. I actually did get a response from Weber and it looks like it will be another $175 for the conversion parts, so I think that makes the deal not that great. I am sure this has been discussed many, many times, but I am still a little confused on the grates. Am I correct...

Genisis Silver B changes next yr

Let say I wanted to make sure I was buying a "Premium" Weber. Are the part numbers different? If so, is there some pattern?

Pork Butt...sauce/no sauce your favorite ??

I bought some BBQ sauce on clearance at BBQs Galore. It turned out to be some of the best sauce I have ever had (for Pork at least). It is called JB's Fat Boy Haugwash. http://jbsfatboy.com/showproduct.php?catId=1&id=2
