I just recently ordered a product called TexasBarBQue Rub. They recommend applying Worchestershire sauce to meat before applying their rub. So far I've only used it once,but it was quite good.

I heard on the radio a few days ago that a Kingsford Charcoal plant was burning out of control. This was in Kentucky, I believe.
However I have heard or read nothing about it since.
Does any one have any further information?

We took one of these belonging to a friend to Talladega a few years ago. We cooked a whole hog and as I remember it was quite good. as was stated earlier the hog has to be turned fairly often to prevent burning. The flavor depends more on seasoning than smoke.

It just happens that I did one of these yesterday. My method was smear the loin with yellow French's mustard and sprinkle liberally with BRITU rub.
I put 2 small hunks of hickory in each of my Weber baskets and filled them with lit lump charcoal. The basket were placed on each side of my kettle...
Somewhere, I think on this site, There's discussions about building simple wind screens out of plywood or other materials that's supposed to help stabilize temps. during windy conditions.

Sam's Club sells Kingsford in a package containing 2 24# bags of charcoal. Here it costs about $10.98 I think.
I live in North Louisiana which isn't very different in temp. or humidity in N.W. Florida.

I have started doing like Konrad Chicken halves on the kettle cooked indirect. I cook mine for about 1 1/2 hrs after seasoning liberally with some rub. (I change fairly often) Smear some sauce on for the last 10-15 minutes. Today I used a little Kraft Honey Mustard.
