Well… I have one Akorn, a mini Akorn and an UDS made from an old wood burning furnace. My original plan was to use one old model RD with the mini Akorn keeping the two RD3s for the full size Akorn and the UDS… As winter is coming and so far I could only install the RD3 in the Akorn, I changed...

I finally got some time to build the Auxiliary TC board for one of the two RD3s I got from Ralph. I tested the board before mounting it in the little box of the RD3 and it worked perfectly… Having everything ready and all planets aligned, I assembled RD3 and AuxTC and mounted them in my Akorn...

Hi Ralph, That's a great idea!. In that way, the only electronics exposed to low temp would be the thermocouple amplifier if I locate it (as you already did) at the side of the damper's cat5 connector. Thanks!

Thank you for your responses!... So above -30C, it should work well with the exception of the LCD. The only precaution would be to turn it off before bringing it into the house and allow condensation to dry up before next use... Awesome!

Hi, I live in Winnipeg, Canada... Winter is comming and I wonder what the limits of operation are for the HM?... I think that -10C (15F) is something reasonable for many electronics but, unfortunately, there are colder days comming during December and Jannuary and I don't want to give up BBQing...
