Aside form the rust that will slowly eat away at it, you got an awesome grill! Some cleaning and a few parts and that thing will be fantastic. I don't think Weber si going to warranty much, but if you had to spend $150 on parts it will still be a great st(d)eal!

I don't think the steam does much to the meat overall as a lot of it just goes out the vent. I do think it helps with temps on a WSM, as they tend to run hot. You don't see a water pan in the UDS's.

Found a little more info that what Amazon has. No personal experinece. Seems a bit pricey for a flat top grate. Kettle-Q

Dig those crazy wheels! You can find a grate on Amazon. I saw a couple that will probably work for under $25. Grillmark Rome Don't know the exact measurements of an old school 26er, but one of these may work. The price is right. How is the rest of the grill?

The burner tubes will rot over time, a really long time. They are made of SS, but the high heat and food acids will eventually get to them. Easy to replace. Costs aobut $40. I recommend that if you buy one, to change the nuts and bolts that hold it on the bowl to SS and use bolts instead of the...

Michael, Its possible that the thermo is a warranty item. I wouldn't consider that a deal breaker. Take the grills and flavorizer bars out. Check the burner tubes for any obvious damage. Fire it up and check for an even flame. Flavorizers and grates amy be worn and need replacing. Those can get...

Jeff, I found those hooks on the bottom quite interesting. It looks like it fits on the bowl of an 18 or 22 by placing it on the matching bracket. Very cool. AJ

The black ones are veryy common, I don't see many blue ones and the red ones seem come up even less. I just think they made lots of the green ones. Any other color is a speciality.
