I just got me a red Q1200 as well. I'm a little bummed as it's about 1/2" too tall to fit with the lid on in the trunk of my Subaru BRZ (also red). I'll have to take the lid off when I transport it. I'd almost go with the Q1000 for the shallower top lid, but I really like the side tables...
I'd love to use the PID functionality of the HM, and have all the temp probes as well.
I have 3 HM units, so maybe hacking up one isn't so bad since I really only use two.. (one for monitoring the traeger, the other controls a mini WSM).
So on the traeger, the hot rod turns on for 4 minutes.
The one issue that is important is to always have some feed of pellets into the firepot to keep the grill from flaming out. Most of the control systems even with PID still input pellets in every so often. I found a thread earlier that...
Glenn,
I'm really thinking about modifying one of my 3 heatermeters to attempt to control my traeger. As you said, I don't think it would be too terribly hard to modify things to work.
Ended up finding it a home for $250. Not too bad.. hopefully I won't have seller's remorse. Although if I do, I'll find an old redhead to restore.. lol.
So I have another thread where I'm trying to clear out my other BBQ's including my genesis silver B. I have on the side of my house a Genesis Jr. that came from my dad's lakehouse property.
I'm just trying to figure out what I should do with this guy. I can't bring myself to take it to the...
I just did the grates earlier today with some crisco and baked it in for an hour. They look a lot better now. Also hit the inside of the lid with some more cleaner, and then hit the outside with my buffer and some compound to get all the water spots off.
I'll probably include a tank with it...
Well, it's time for me to clean up my pation and thin out the herd of BBQ's. I have a traeger which is do almost everything on, a weber Mini WSM for small smokes, and another smaller gas grill. The main gas grill that I really haven't used but once in the last 2 years is my Genesis Silver B...
Does anyone need any cases for the 6.1 version? My buddy went to print out two cases for my V6, and printed out 6.1's instead. So, we have two very nice gray cases for the 6.1 model. I think he's just wanting like $25 for them.
Let me know if anyone is interested!
