Wood from an Orchard

I got this box of wood from an Orchard and no one could tell me what it was. But they assured me it's a fruit wood.

Any guess?

Thank you.

Tony, the San Bernardino area was mostly known for citrus and predominately orange, lemon and grapefruit. In the early sixties I remember miles and miles of citrus trees along the back roads when the 91 was a two lane highway. Also if I remember right there was some walnut or pecan groves on the north end of town as you started to climb into the foot hills.
I would suggest taking a chunk to a local nursery and let them take a shot at it, otherwise I guess it’s a DNA test.

The clerk said it was peach or apricot. It's still a working orchard. I asked if there was anybody that can identify the wood. But was told that the retail store is separate from the working orchard. We went outside to see if there was a worker waking around but didn't see anything. This place is where the 60 east ends and merges into the 10 east.

I looks like peach.
Dwain sent me some peach a few months ago and it looks similar.

Not sure what it is but any of the woods mentioned would be great for smoke wood. It's easier to tell by leaves than wood and bark.
