Took apart two grills, and can’t figure out what it is. From either Gen 1k or 2k.

Wag frame to box piece. Yeah useless guess. But hey at least i didn't say heat shield... second thought, it may be part of a side burner.. or wind break/brake

It's the front panel cover.

Goes below the control panel. Hides the manifold. Good luck finding the other plastic push pin. I always thought the pin was worth more than the cover

You can buy those push pins at a hardware store. I believe they are considered an automotive part.

Yes, they're referred to as "Christmas tree" fasteners

It provides a finished look.

Yah, no practical function for that piece. It just dresses up the grill a little bit by hiding the burners and manifold.

They are not the same. Found some to make it work but not the same
