What did santa bring you?

I'm no longer a young guy and I learned all to well, Santa doesn't bring me what I want. So I play Santa and save him the trip. Picked up my Star-Spangled Kettle mid December, and my Stealth BBQ when they came out (early on 2025?)New BBQ's.jpeg

Daughter got me the glasses that hold cigars and my Mom got me the custom decanter.

Daughter's boyfriend is Moroccan and he got me a tagine pot that I can use in the smoker.

Wife also got me an OU and an OKC Thunder shirt. We tend to get most of what we want throughout the year so Christmas is more ceremonial at this point. lol

Wife and I agreed on an $250 budget for each of us. Asked the wife for a couple more RFX Meat probes. I had two already, but found myself frequently grilling 3 or 4 pieces of meat and wanting a couple more.

Wife gets me a whole nother RFX Gateway with 4 RFX Meat probes. She said it was better price wise to get that than just like 3 probes. Then, the turkey also got a Ryda ST650 Chef Knife.

No pic of the RFX Meat or Gateway because we all know what they look like, but here’s the knife:IMG_5740.jpeg

My kids gave me a nice Anova Sous Vide and a very cool Briner bucket/tub thing.
I already used the Sous Vide a few times and l like that a lot.
I think the Briner and I will soon become good friends too.

The wife let me buy a Bambu 3d printer for Christmas.
Those things are amazing.

I wouldn't mind a Sous Vide machine. Not because I can't do it on my induction range but on the range I cannot do "circulation". And I do believe that is another part of the equation I am missing

I need some advice everyone. My dad sent me a $500 gift card to Home Depot. He wants me to buy a grill, we moved cross country and I sold my last one for the move. I've always had gas grills, but I'm currently stuck trying to decide between a kettle, a gas grill or pellet grill. Let's say for the sake of it, I'm willing to extend the budget out of pocket a bit for the right grill. If you had to pick one grill what would you pick?

I'd say if you want a great do it all, I'd honestly be looking at a Searwood. Smoke, roast, grill, rotisserie. Easy and cheap to operate. If I was at just one grill it would be a pellet grill. Yeah I like them that much

Honestly I would go for a kettle with accessories. Kettles rule. I had a WSK for a few years and passsed on a pellet grill to keep my venerable 2015 performer. No electronics or mechanics to go wrong. Holds temps very well and there isn’t much I can’t cook on it.
