Weber Wobbly Wheel Fix

Being of an engineering background, I got tired of Weber's wobbly wheels. It went against my ingrained training that things need to fit together well. So I decided to fix the Weber Wobbly Wheel Syndrome permanently. All it required was a couple of washers and a 3/8" ID lock collar per wheel. I think the pics show adequately how I did it, and no additional text required. The lock collars can be found on Amazon, cheap as chips.

Did that on my old OTG because the hub caps kept falling off ( I used to wheel it in and out of the garage)
3/8" shaft collars they are called over here.

Thanks - I always hated the pot caps.

We don't see enough of you around here Tony. Hope it's because you're up to your eyeballs in pretty women

Update:
Got tired of those ugly, plastic OEM wheels, so I decided to change them out for a pair of solid rubber 5-spoke mags, with integral bearings. (These particular wheels are for e-scooters, available from JOSE's). The shaft collar can be pushed tight to the inner race as it sits about 0.5mm proud of the outer race on both sides. The kettle now rolls around smoothly & in silence! For hub-caps I found some 0.5", rare-earth, button magnets.

Edit: These wheels were cheaper than the OEM ones should I have wanted to replace like for like.

Strong work Mr. President!
I’ve yet to get to the wheel stage on the gasser but, I’m going with basically the same wheels but in 10” diameter. I need to sort out an inside bushing as there will be no through axle, just bolt mounted like lawn mower wheels, should not be any big problem, probably do the same kind of thing as you did but on the inside. That will keep the wheels from rubbing on the frame leg.
