What kind of grill is that?
If those grates are porcelain coated, I would avoid metal brushes and start with a strong degreaser. Weber makes some grate sprays, but Sam's Members Mark Grill Cleaner gives you a lot more for your money. Use with care! If using just a scrub brush and that doesn't get you where you want, you might also experiment with CAREFULLY using a razor scraper - not digging it in, but going with the flat of the grate - and see if you can "peel off" any remaining layers of gunk.
I got the same response too. Whoa. I thought I was being overly annoyed so I didn’t say anything . But then I read these posts.I got the same response Brian. I am giving up. I really don't even care about getting a nylon replacement. In the grand scheme of things, it isn't worth the effort.....even though I think you are right that the whole process is designed to make it a PIA to make a claim so that people just give up.

Will a picture of a picture from my location work? Asking for a friend.I don't particularly care about the replacement brush myself. I'm sure it's going to be useless for it's intended purpose. I do find it odd that they are rejecting claims when they can clearly see it's one of their brushes. I haven't seen a rejection yet. Here is the picture I sent and their response so far which I received as a text message.View attachment 125324View attachment 125325
You could try it, but I wouldn't put my search for a replacement on hold.
Wrong model? They clearly showed those as being part of the recall. My brush was unused and still had the weber label attached to it. They rejected mine saying it was the wrong model.

Yah, I know. But whatever. I would rather watch 15 minutes of "The Simpsons" than waste another 15 minutes dealing with this.Wrong model? They clearly showed those as being part of the recall.
Is sending a follow up picture of your middle finger wrong? Again , asking for a friend.Yah, I know. But whatever. I would rather watch 15 minutes of "The Simpsons" than waste another 15 minutes dealing with this.
Again its a scam the 21 inch that Bruce showed and I have that model clearly had the Weber logo when you went it to the site it was pictured. I also had the short one which is very hard to see the logo since its on the black handle.Wrong model? They clearly showed those as being part of the recall.
The problem is there are 3.2 million brushes recalled say they cost them 9 bucks a pop to replace them which my guess is what they cost them maybe less. Its a big number.I got the same response too. Whoa. I thought I was being overly annoyed so I didn’t say anything . But then I read these posts.
you have to use a special app to take a pic and upload with location services on. I took a close up with 3/4 of the brush in it because they said make sure the logo is visible. So I zoomed in on the Weber grill icon on the head. It says don’t throw away the brush until approved. I get an email saying photo accepted. I take this as an approval and throw brush out.
Athen I get an email saying they need a picture showing the whole brush. I call them and say I threw it out and why would they need that when they had 3/4 of it and how could the 1/4 more help them verify? The liability of not replacing would be more had I not thrown away.
all over a 15 dollar brush. Not worth anymore time.
