ThermoMaven G2 Wireless Bluetooth Smart Meat Thermometer w/ 2 Probes $60 after coupon

Josh, they offered an upgrade from 1.0 to 1.5 years for registering. Maybe they dropped that down with the steep discount.
Yes that may be true Bruce. From what I read the three year isn't standard but as I understood it a temporary promotional free warranty extension.

Either way the main thing to me is that a company that offers a decent warranty usually has a decent product in the first place.

Bruce they also sometimes offer a free 3 year as a special or promotion. If I remember right when I registered I got the three year.View attachment 125098
Well I sure hope this is correct. Mine just came this evening and I unwrapped it. I gotta say I am IMPRESSED with the solidity. It was cold so I did not attempt to turn it on or charge it due to it being cold.
But the build quality is fantastic

Hey I see all the talk of registering the unit, but nowhere have I seen anything on any included paperwork or so far the app showing anything about registering for the warranty/extended warranty.

OK, well I guess I should have turned it on and paired it :D The registration populated immediately. Indicated "Extended Warranty" but not how "extended"

Here is the registration from the manual. It Says 3 year and the QR code takes to a page that says 3 year

Can't wait to hear if you like it. Pros/cons.
My initial thoughts were positive. Not having to use my phone or a tablet for a wireless probe is a win.

My go-to for everything but Rotisserie is the thermoworks smoke, so I'll use both. I trust the accuracy of the TW smoke so it will be a good comparison.

Maybe I'll spin a yard bird. It's been a while and the weather's getting nice out.

Nice!! Looking forward to your feedback. I'm happy with it but don't have much experience with probes. Also I would feel terrible recommending something and having people not like it or have problems with it.

For the price, if it only works well for rotisserie, it is still a win, and I anticip

I bought two meater plus probes for rotisserie, and the only way I could keep them connected was to have the probe's connected to the blocks and the blocks connected to a tablet and the tablet had to be 10 to 15 feet from the block. If I paired the probes or the block with my phone nothing worked as soon as I walked 20 feet from the smoker.

The other negativefor the meater plus is they were "slow" to respond to temp changes. Several minutes lag to arrive at the same temp as the TW smoke and verified with a Thermapen. I learned to adapt to this but, I shouldn't have had to.

What are your thoughts that the display times out and you have to hold down power button to turn screen back on. Even if plugged in with a cord? I don’t care for this

BTW setup was as easy as falling off a rock. Getting the settings for my actual cook tripped me a touch. Only because it seems to default to "manual" and then if you want the "Intelligent" cook you have to go to "Edit" then the different meats and things populate. Not hard at all. I just didn't think to look there. Once you have that the rest is EZPZ

As for all this "accuracy" and such. These things are ALL "accurate" this one even has a certificate or something much like Thermoworks products come with.
But here is my take on that: Who cares? I mean really? If one probe reads a degree or two different. Is it gonna change your cook? Absolutely not. It's BBQ not precision machining. Hell if you change the position of the probe sometimes a half inch temp displayed can change.
Too much is made over this IMO. Does the product work well? Does it read within the confines of what you need to accomplish? IOW If you want a roast done to 135. Do you really think +- say even 2 or 3 deg is gonna change the roast? Make it inedible or unsafe? I seriously doubt it.
Most important is ease of use, does it accomplish the job at hand, does it hold up for your use?
If the answers to these questions come back yes, in my book it's a winner.
For the record I did not do a side by side with my Smoke, my T/Pro or anything in the old ice water/boiling water. We're talkin' hand grenades and horseshoes here. And so far this product is exemplary it's answered all the questions except one. Will it hold up? I'm afraid more testing will be needed :D Which I plan to do as the season "heats up" :D
