The Guber Burger

What is a Guber burger you ask? It is a specialty burger
that hails from The Wheel Inn, in Sedalia, Mo. Sedalia is
about 60 miles east of KC, and its the home of the Mo. State fair.

Aside from the fairgrounds and its activities, by far the
thing Sedalia is still most famous for is the Guber Burger, even
though The Wheel has been closed 15 years, and its predecessor
has been closed about 10 years. Truthfully, it's been 20 years
or more since I recall eating a Guber Burger until today. Also,
my version varies slightly, but it still contains the most important
ingredients. I omitted the tomato's as I do often. They give me
canker sores something fierce. I also added cheese and bacon,
because I love cheese and bacon. :D

Similar set up as last time. Fired up the Genesis ...

Bigger patties this time. Pressed, but not smashed
and no onions.

I am loving this griddle. It sears incredibly. Much better, and
much quicker than the Blackstone. I very happy I made this
move.

After searing both sides, I moved the patties over onto the
stainless grates, to get a little bit of the flame broiled taste,
and added cheese. The bottom burger with the jalapeno jack
was for my wife, she won't touch a Guber Burger.

Toasted bun again, with mayo, lettuce and bacon leftover from breakfast.

Dang.... righteous looking cheeseburger, but with peanut butter? My idea of an exotic burger is one with hot pepper cheese and guac on it.... not sure this dude could abide by the peanut butter on the burger but maybe after a few beverages, under the influence.... nah who am I kiddin'... still probably not, dude, that's just a little.. out there ya know. But to each their own.... glad you're out their enjoyin' burgers your way : )

Many years ago I worked with a guy who claimed to have invented that burger. However he also told a story about stealing a Renoir with a young lady whose uncle was in the mafia. I just started calling him Mr Crown.
Mr clown

Wait...peanut butter?!?! I love both beef and PB so maybe I’ll give this a try for the next burger cook. To “melt” the PB, did you just heat it up in a sauce pan?
