Sugarless Texas Sprinkle

I'm really intrigued by the Sugarless Texas Sprinkle Rub. I know it's used on ribs; however, can it be used on other things I want to cook up? Is it the paprika that colors of the meat rather than say, brown sugar? /infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

I have to limit my sugar. I use the Texas Sugarless Rub on ribs, chicken and brisket with great success.
